Correcting Dental Issues With Orthodontics

Phase I treatment may employ partial braces or an expander to prepare the oral cavity for further treatment and to correct conditions such as overbites and underbites. Phase I treatment often begins anywhere from age 6 to 10.

Phase II treatment can begin once all of the permanent teeth are in place, usually between ages 11 and 13. At this time, braces or an alternative treatment such as Invisalign may be prescribed.

Treatment time depends on several factors, including the severity of the misalignment, patient compliance, and keeping up with appointments. Our practice has two accessible offices, one of which is right in Kennett Square, so it is always easy to attend the needed appointments.
